• THE SOCIETY FOR CERTIFIED QUALITY MANAGEMENT (SCQM)

The Society for Certified Quality Management (SCQM) was established under the aegis of Nigerian Institute of Production Management (NIPM) in 2001 following the participation of the Standards organization of Nigerian (SON) in the Institute’s National Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja on 21^st June 2000, declared open by Senator Bola Hammed Tinubu, Executive Governor of Lagos State. Members of the Institute who had responsibility for the management of quality including scientists, technologists, process/quality controllers, quality assurance managers, technical service managers, quality auditors and quality management consultants identified the need to have specialist professional group for articulating, propagating and sharing knowledge and global best practices of Quality and Reliability Management. It is the trite of the Society that only professionally certified persons should be allowed to perform quality management jobs in organizations. Only professionally certified managers and workers can defend the integrity of an ISO certified organization.

The Society has been involved in professional training and certification of quality management practitioners over the years. It conducts open workshops and in-house courses. It admits quality practitioners to its Membership as Fellows, Members, Associates, Affiliates and Graduates.
